Caramel
Nine year old Caramel (the photo shows him spruced up but he is rather woolly currently!) is a Fox Terrier x Jack Russell who hasn’t had a great deal of luck in his life. He arrived at the refuge in April 2021 but four years later he is still looking for the right home. Caramel is a lovely little chap – a typical terrier personality who enjoys whizzing around the refuge when he has his moments of freedom, walks nicely on the lead and adores to sit on laps. He doesn’t get on with male dogs or cats, but doesn’t show any issues when walking with female dogs at the refuge. He can sometimes be frustrated when he sees another male dog, when he may spin on the lead and grab whatever is nearby (such as the lead or a trouser leg) and an early potential adoption failed because of this behavioural blip. Perhaps castration and some knowledgeable training/advice would help him overcome this issue. Sadly, poor Caramel suffered another failed adoption because although he settled well, was clean in the house and was much loved, he kept escaping the owner’s garden.
