Two Remarkable People….
Sometimes when you feel that things are getting on top of you, and they can’t get much worse, something happens and brings a ray of sunshine and hope into your life. Meeting with Leeanne and Mike Whitley at the Twighlight old dogs home yesterday to deliver yet another old dog into their care, was such an event.
Leeanne and Mike started Twighlight in 2009 when they realized the very great need for someone to help the older dogs, the no hopers that no-one wanted anymore, and they have made it their life’s commitment ever since to give these gentle old souls some dignity and love in their last remaining, weeks, months, or if they are lucky, years.
So, if you are having a bad day and the pound has fallen even lower against the euro, it’s July and still raining and you just feel like going back to bed, visit the Twighlight website http://www.twilightchiens.com/ and your day will suddenly become brighter.
We all get older and usually have family or friends to help us, but few people adopt or take old dogs into their homes, and yet these are the most loving, facinating and friendly of animals, truly “man’s best friend”. Leeanne and Mike face the same problems we all do, but they have a secret weapon – their great love of older animals in need and their willingness to go the extra mile.
