This is poor little Callie, a beagle of about 4 years old. She was brought to the Carcassone refuge at the beginning of April having been found tied up to a tree in the middle of a field with her pups – she was doing her best to keep alive. She was starving and covered in ticks and fleas and in a dreadful state. One of the pups didn’t survive, but the rest have all been rehomed, and Callie is now in the refuge alone.
She is a very small beagle, extremely scared and timid. She is not a hunting type, more a family pet (she had a collar when she was found). She has obviously been mistreated, as the slightest noise scares her. She has to be forced out of her kennel, but once out she is much happier. She responds well to affection and gets on well with other dogs, providing they are not over-dominant.
Callie needs to escape the noise and confusion of the refuge. She is very gentle and we hope she finds her special family soon and can put her recent trauma behind her. This little dog has suffered terribly but has the good nature to still be kind and desperately wants to be able to trust and be loved for the lovely little things she is. Who will restore this trust and make this special little lady feel safe and part of a caring, loving family – please?
If you think you could give Callie a safe and loving home please contact: doglinks.fr@gmail.com or hopeassoc@orange.fr this animals deserves a chance of happiness.
